In order to promote the use of NPK fertilisers, Zuari implemented many intensive fertiliser promotion campaigns. Amongst the most significant are programmes carried out in Nanded (Maharashtra), Tumkur (Karnataka) and Nalgonda (Andhra Pradesh).
As an outcome, NPK nutrient consumption increased from 17 kg per hectare to 31 kg per hectare in Nanded, from 21 kg to 32 kg per hectare in Tumkur and from 34 kg to 60 kg per hectare in Nalgonda. The increase in fertiliser usage in these areas has been directly correlated with an increase in crop yield. This is testimony to the fact that intensive fertiliser usage leads to an improvement in agricultural output.
Zuari has initiated many more significant campaigns in its newer marketing areas spread over Peninsular India.
